My recliners feet extension does not pull out. How can I fix my recliner?

2. You are going to have to flip the recliner on its back, to look at it closer. Mine has a button ( some have/had handles) and "pops open". That is a spring action, so very likely either one or both springs are broken. Another option can be that the engagement (button or handle) is worn so it no longer presses the right spot to activate the chair. A good hardware store should have similar springs and parts to fix up the chair.
3. There is is no single answer. Flip it over, get a flashlight and look for something unusual. Broken pulls, broken springs, sheared rivets, lost bolts, bent frames, and worn holes are all possible causes. I have seen them all.
